There's no logical reason to have it be a one time only deal. Because all roads lead back to Richard."

This is where I pegged the book like a baseball the whole way across the living room and into the wall, where, had it not been for the 70's wood paneling, there would be a dent unto this day. I had been trying to give the series a chance to get back on track, I understood that sometimes authors go through bad stuff, but when Anita said she held nothing back from Richard with a straight face and was not corrected I knew it was over. I've never paid money for another one since. I wonder what they're trying to manage with that. Did they have a lot of churnover of e-manuscripts with their PubIt effort?

Looking at this in terms of a supplier/vendor deal, I don't see a problem with the 'pull objectionable content at our discretion' bit. It's no different than their current stance regarding print books.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05828438966741169694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3350096535937978369.post-55981171545067902322013-04-10T12:00:04.900-07:002013-04-10T12:00:04.900-07:00*nods* Yeah, we're having that discussion over...*nods* Yeah, we're having that discussion over on Absolute Write.

Current debate is over Holly Lisle's analysis of the contract terms re: pricing. http://hollylisle.com/writers-barnes-noble-nook-press-contract-terms-are-insanely-bad/

The problem is that Pubit is doomed, according to Barnes and Noble itself. So either you join Nook Press or you no longer sell through Barnes and Noble.com directly.

Going through Smashwords again is always an option, but I like having direct control of the various channels I sell through.

The debate is still on. Apparently once you've published through NookPress you can't modify that e-manuscript. At all. You might want to look in to that, since I don't know any details.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05828438966741169694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3350096535937978369.post-70817852179540875482013-04-10T08:58:50.595-07:002013-04-10T08:58:50.595-07:00Regarding switching from PubIt to Nook Press -- I ...Regarding switching from PubIt to Nook Press -- I don't know about graphic novels and such, but I plan to just let my PubIt account lapse, since I'm happier with the layout of the Smashwords editions of my books, and I have access to the Nook market through SW anyway.Don A.
